My Courses for Faculty: Email Students in Your Course
Click on Email under Course Tools to view a list of students in your course. You will see the following screen.
Select Email Recipients
- Check the "Select All" box if you wish to send a message to the entire class.
- If you want to send a message to a part of the class, check the box nex to each person's name that should receive the message.
- After you have selected recipients for your message, click on the "Send E-mail" button.
If you are going to be communicating with students via email, be sure you let them know that it will be going to their hawaii.edu email account.

Compose Email
After clicking on the "Send E-mail" link, you will see the following Compose Email screen. You will need to do the following to send a message via email:
NOTE: You will not see any recipients listed in the To: box, as they have all been placed on the Bcc: (blind carbon copy) line. This is so that no one can see anyone else's email address when they receive the message.
- Add other recipients by typing their email address in the appropriate box.
- Type a Subject for your message.
- Type the message.
- You have the option of adding attachments to the message.
- When you are finished, click on Send.
- If you decide not to send the message, click Cancel.
- Your message will be sent out.
Note: You may wish to spell check your message before sending; if so, click on Spell Check.
