Registration Errors Glossary
The following are explanations of potential error messages or situations that may be displayed while attempting to register for classes or making changes to your registration. A recommended course of action is provided for each registration error. Please feel free to contact the student services office for assistance.

- An error has prevented processing of your transaction. Please inform your Registrar that a Processing Error has occurred.
Description: You have been suspended or dismissed from the institution that is offering the class.
Action: You may be able to register at another institution or you should contact the institution for more information and options.
Action drop down box is not available for the class
Description: Registration changes for the class is not currently available online.
Action: Check the registration add/drop dates for the class on Class Availability (via the CRN link) or the registration timetable for the institution to see when registration changes are allowed.
Cannot drop your last class at your home institution on the web.
Description: You cannot drop ALL of your classes at your home institution on the web at this time.
Action: During the drop period, you may drop all classes except the last one at your home institution. Please contact the registration office to drop your last class at your home institution.
Description: You cannot register for this class because your class standing (freshman, sophomore, etc.) does not meet the requirement for enrollment in this class.
Action: Consult the Schedule of Classes or the Class Availability site for a class appropriate for your class standing.
Closed Section Institution Name and CRN
Description: This class has reached its maximum capacity.
Action: Check the Class Availability site for an alternate section or waitlist for the class if waitlisting is available.
Closed-X Waitlisted Institution Name and CRN
Description: The class has reached its maximum capacity and has X number of students waitlisted.
Action: Consult the Schedule of Classes or the Class Availability site for an alternate section or you may add yourself to the waitlist for this section.
Description: The class has reached its maximum capacity and the waitlist for the class is full.
Action: Consult the Schedule of Classes or the Class Availability site for an alternate section or try again later for available seats or spaces on the waitlist.
Corequisite SUBJ Number (CRN XXXX) required
Description: There is a corequisite for this class which you must register for at the same time.
Action:
If a CRN is displayed, then that particular section of the course needs to be registered for at the same time. e.g. Corequisite CHEM 151 (CRN 20354) required – Corequisite is CHEM 151 with CRN 20354.If just the is subject and number is displayed, then any section of that corequisite course may be used to meet the corequisite requirement. E.g. Corequisite CHEM 151 required. Please refer to the campus Schedule of Classes or the Class Availability site to find appropriate sections.
Course is not available for registration at this time
Description: The section you selected has been cancelled or is inactive.
Action: Use the Search for Classes feature, the Class Availability Site, or consult the schedule of classes for an alternate section.
Duplicate Course with Section XXXXX
Description: You are already registered for another section of this course.
Action: Review your Current Schedule. You cannot register for the same course twice.
Description: You are already registered for this course and section.
Action: You cannot register for the same class twice. Review your Registration Worksheet.
Institution Alternate Pin Restriction
Description: You must enter a Alternate Pin number to register for classes at this institution.
Action: Contact the registration office for this institution to find out where to get your Alternate Pin number.
Institution Time Ticket Restriction
Description: You cannot register at the institution offering the course or it is not your assigned time to register.
Action: Refer to the Registration Timetable to find your assigned registration time at the institution offering the class. Check the institution offering the class to make sure you are eligible to register at that institution. Your registration date and time at your home institution appears on the "Check My Registration Status" page after you log in to MyUH.
Description: You are not eligible to register for this class unless you have instructor approval.
Action: Contact instructor for approval. Refer to your campus web site or the Class Availability site (via the CRN link) for instructor email contact.
Description: You cannot register for this class because your student level (undergraduate, graduate, etc.) does not meet the requirement for enrollment in this class.
Action: Consult the Schedule of Classes or the Class Availability site for a class appropriate for your class level.
Description: You cannot register for this class because your major does not meet the requirement for enrollment in this class. Only students with a specific major may register for this class.
Action: Consult the Schedule of Classes for major restrictions on the class and contact a counselor at your home institution if you want to change your major or contact the instructor of the class for a major restriction override.
Description: You cannot register for this course since you will exceed the student credit limit at your home institution.
Action: If you wish to exceed the credit limit, contact a counselor at your home institution.
Description: The class has reached its maximum capacity. Any open seats are reserved for students on the waitlist.
Action: If waitlist spaces are available, you may add yourself to the waitlist or you may consult the Schedule of Classes or Class Availability site for an alternate section.
Description: You cannot register for this class because it has prerequisite requirements that have not been met by your placement test scores or a previous class.
Action: Check the Class Availability site or your college catalog for prerequisite requirements for the class. If you believe you have received this message in error, contact the institution's registration office.
Registration changes are not allowed for this course at this time.
Description: You cannot make changes for this class via the web at this time.
Action: If you wish to exceed the credit limit, contact a counselor at your home institution.
Registration prohibited at this institution. Institution Name and CRN XXXX.
Description: You cannot register for this course because you do not have the prerequisite or placement test scores required to register for this course.
Action: Consult the Schedule of Classes or college catalog or click on the CRN in the Registration error to view the registration prerequisite requirements. An “N” indicates which requirement has not been met. If you believe you have received this message in error, contact the Registration Office.
Description: You have already taken this course and will exceed the number of times permitted to repeat this course.
Action: If you wish to exceed the limit for this course, contact a counselor at your home institution.
Description: You have attempted or already received the maximum credit allowed for this course.
Action: If you wish to exceed the limit for this course, contact a counselor at your home institution.
Description: The open seats in this class are reserved.
Action: Please check the class information on Class Availability or contact the registration office for qualifications for these reserved seats.
Description: The reserved seats for this class are filled.
Action: You may attempt to add yourself to the waitlist for these reserved seats.
Description: The reserved seats and the waitlist for this class are filled.
Action: Please select another section of the course or try again later.
Description: Seats in this section are reserved and there is a waitlist.
Action: You may attempt to add yourself to the waitlist. Pleases check the class information on Class Availability or contact the registration office for qualifications for these reserved seats.
Reserve Open - Waitlist Filled
Description: The reserved seats and the waitlist for this class are filled.
Action: Please select another section of the course or try again later.
Description: The prerequisite checking is currently disabled.
Action: Try again later or contact the registration office to report the problem.

Description: The course you are attempting to register for overlaps with a course in which you are already registered.
Action: Select an alternate section which fits your schedule or you must drop the current class before you may register for the class that meets at the same time.
